However, make sure that the shoes made in the USA, it will be expensive but worth it in the long term. Avoid any that are made elsewhere. 1.0 out of 5 stars Quality has gone right down. June 10, 2017 These are my third.....and last pair of Sebagos. My first two pairs were made in the USA, supremely comfortable, very hard wearing, so good that I bought another pair. Serious mistake. Though they looked exactly the same, my feet told me otherwise. Made in the Dominican Republic from stiff and unforgiving (cheap?) leather, they just refuse to break in after painful hours of wearing. If they don`t give in soon they`ll go to a charity shop. Although they have the Sebago name, they are an expensive imitation of the real thing. **Q: Are the backs stiff or soft.looking for a stiff back.** A: Stiff. Like, cardboard. But then again, I like a shoe that's hard az **Q: Are these the same model that used to be called sebago roamers? those were leather lined. are these leather lined?** A: Never heard them called that. In the 50s these were basically Penny Loafers. I switched to these decades ago when Bass Weejuns started getting chic and pricy. My last pair lasted about 10 years and other than needing resoling they WERE still in pretty good shape. It's just hard to find a good shoe repair place where I'm living now. **Q: Where is this shoe made?** A: Sebago was started as an American company and was headquartered in Maine. Not sure where the actual shoes are made these days. I think even those Made in the USA labels are sewn in China these days. Sebago shoes have always lasted me a good long while and are well constructed. Their motto brags about them being handsewn. Looks good with both a suit or jeans. It does require a little break in, but well worth it. This is my second pair of loafers from Sebago, I also have the Venetian loafer in black.
