At the end of the Krisk, there is a sharp blade which you can use to cut the end of the bean, but it is easier to just snap the end off. **Q: No instructions are included. That being said, it really doesn't take all that much time to french a batch of beans for dinner or even 8 pints for canning as I did. In this hurry up world sometimes it is good to slow down a bit and enjoy preparing food for dinner or preserving.
