Within a few weeks we noticed her water intake return to normal and at her 3 month check up her blood work was so much better that our vet couldn’t believe the results. Our pups protein levels were back to normal and her blood pressure was also perfect. It’s going on nine months and we will be having a full work up done in the next few weeks to make sure everything is still looking good. Her activity level matches that of her six year old German Shepherd sister. Not sure if her rebound is the result of just one of the supplements we give her or the work of all of them. While using Azodyl, her loss of kidney function has slowed way down and stabilized. While no product can reverse kidney disease, her bloodwork showed a noticeable stabilization in her kidney’s processing ability (before using Azodyl, her values were getting gradually worse every time we had her checked out). The product is expensive, but definitely worthwhile and has added pro-biotic benefits which also help older pups immune systems fight off infections. We usually have to give this to her inside a pill pocket or piece of food... it’s not something most dogs will eat on their own since it’s just a capsule. She had lost several pounds and was very lethargic. We received two sample capsules from the vet and immediately saw results. She perked right up and, now, after just over a month, with two capsules a day, is back her to normal self. Before trying these I did some research and found that there were no substantial studies of Azodyl, just veterinarians anecdotal stories. The main take away from my research was that the capsules needed to be ingested rather than sprinkling the materials on food. We give our Noiri two capsules a day, one in a.m. and one in pm, and she has responded very well. I strongly recommend trying this if your cat is in kidney distress.
