It has a Velcro flap and when you open the flap the zipper compartment is underneath. The compartment is very roomy. It is enough to store several papers. I have put birth certificates, cards, other important documents, insurance papers, and even a little emergency money in just one folder. The product comes with 2 of them. The design is very well thought out. Highly recommended to protect your valuables or important papers. For added protection I put the folder into another fireproof bag but I don’t think it’s necessary. It will definitely protect on its own.
