Are the routers / bases the same?** A: They are both the same tools. The only difference is that DW618PK includes a hard plastic case. Whereas, the DW618PKB includes a cloth carrying bag. **Q: What kind of router bits are good for this router ? Or are any compatible ?** A: This router has both a 1/4" and 1/2" collet so it will accept both size shank bits. I prefer the buy 1/2" shank myself especially in larger bits, they are a little more expensive but seem to run better and last longer. When it comes to brands of router bit Freud is always the first place I shop. I have also had really good success with CMT and Bosch because my local big box store doesn't carry Freud. One thing I will saw about router bits is its always better to buy quality bits they will last for years and produce better results.
