## Overview

The USE Seat Post Shim is a high-quality, precision-engineered component designed to enhance your cycling experience. Weighing only 22g and made from durable UPVC, this shim features a unique top lip to prevent slippage, ensuring a secure fit. With its accurate weight measurements and robust construction, it's the perfect upgrade for any serious cyclist.

## Description

The USE shim system allows you to fit a seat post into virtually any frame size. Our shims are made to 100mm length and are longer than other shims on the market giving your seat post much better support inside the frame. All shims are designed with a "top lip" to stop shim sliding into the frame. Shims are available in Aluminum and Thermo Plastic, despite the latter being a lighter solution its material characteristics limit the thickness of the ID - OD measurements. Aluminum is used to achieve the thinnest shims as it is a more robust material. Rolled Aluminum shim - the very thinnest shims are rolled from sheet metal. 25.4mm shims need to be so thin as they are etched down in acid to the correct tolerance and are too thin to anodize (show as silver). Shim design characteristics may affect weight. Weights are accurate to the nearest gram. Shims allow a rider to adjust the ID of a frame for a range of different sized posts.

## Features

- All shims are designed with a "top lip" to stop shim sliding into the frame
- Machined Plastic shim - larger size shims are machined to very high tolerances; Weight 22g
- Made from "filled" engineering thermoplastic UPVC; This keeps the weight down, as the shims get thicker
- Shim design characteristics may affect weight; Weights are accurate to the nearest gram

    Got the 34. 9 to 31. 6mm shim ...

Got the 34.9 to 31.6mm shim. It is a piece of rolled aluminum which is then machined to perfection. Mine fits both the seat tube and the seat post perfectly. Some of the reviews here, if calling this "a shim is a shim", are ignorant. Not well seen in the photo is that the outside taper is machined on a lathe. It is not bent sheet metal there. The only possible negative I can site is that the shim is painted rather than anodized. However, I can only tell this by the presence of some slight orange peel on the stem. If you just look at the tapered exterior bit mine looks anodized. At any rate the paint is very thin and may actually help provide some compliance with imperfect seat tubes.

    Great shim

I was getting some annoying creaking from my other seatpost shim. Guess it was the metal on metal interface. Even liberal use of grease would only quiet the noise for a week or two. I bought this and the delrin/metal interface is perfect. No more creaks! No slippage either with a carbon seatpost.

    Good quality

A shim is a shim, the black color is nice because it blends in with most seat posts and bike colors. Be careful, 25.0 is a strange diameter for a seatpost, 25.4 is more common. This will not work with a 25.4 seatpost
