I am almost 60 and, quite frankly, I am too old to be doing a couple of blasts or dropping a few bennies for a pick me up - but God as my witness if this album hits the turn-table or CD slides in, or even if the digital version gets turned on (and I have all of The Clash music on all 3 of those platforms) I do not need any artificial stimulants to get me up. From the opening notes of "Clash City Rockers" or "Janie Jones" (depending on if I'm listening to the U.S. or U.K. version) my pulse begins to quicken and different parts of my body begin to take a beating because I either start slapping the top of my knees or drumming on a counter with the palms of my hands. Then all hell breaks loose. The change the came over me when this music (which also includes The Pistols, The Ramones, Dead Boys, Elvis C, and a bunch of others that I won't bore you with) came out was unbelievable. I had been huge into The Stones, Zeppelin and The Who and all of those bands that we now call Classic Rock and then after buying this album, plus "Never Mind The Bullocks", "The Ramones" & "My Aim Is True", in what seemed like overnight (but was actually about 2 weeks), I was cutting my long hair off and was dying my hair blonde then black. All of this was because of this music.
