I researched quite a few different manufacturers and their models of electric warming trays, before I selected the MegaChef. I chose this warming tray mainly because of the straightforward temperature settings, the safety features that prevent overheating, and the overall size of the unit (which can accommodate several dishes/pots at one time). Out of the box, you can tell this warming tray is very sleek and modern in design, but this unit is also solidly constructed overall. Moreover, I love how the silver and black design perfectly meshes with the stainless steel layout of my kitchen. In terms of functionality, the unit heats up pretty quickly and it does an excellent job of properly distributing heat throughout the surface area. Lastly, I operated this warming tray exclusively on the stone/marble counter-top in my kitchen. Depending on your preferred temperature settings, this tray can become exceptionally hot, so I personally never felt comfortable using it on any wood or plastic surfaces, especially if you intend to leave the tray unattended. Just food for thought.
