I needed to build a PA system in quick time and I already had an Amp and speakers, so just needed a wireless mic to complete the setup. The receiver needs power but my ageing amp did not have that facility, so I plugged the set into a USB power bank, which did the job nicely. I can't comment on battery life as I have only used it for the one event, but I would expect it to last a decent time, if the rest of the unit's properties are anything to go by.
