It's not a "fishy" smell. It's an algae smell. Fish smell like algae, not the other way around. I don't see any way around that dilemma! I've been taking this pill since my pregnancy started in May and yes, if I take a big strong whiff, it smells of the sea and that is no fun with morning sickness but it's pretty easy to avoid if I just pop it in my mouth. And, in the first, oh 20 seconds after swallowing, I usually get a mild algae taste in my mouth but it subsides pretty quickly. I think this is a great product.
