I found this book easy to read, very informative, and very well laid out.  It starts with a review of basic amplifier concepts and observations about where traditional designs fall short, and then quickly moves along in a logical and clear way to make the case for linearization methods and the corresponding tradeoffs.  The book assumes fairly little, walking the reader through topics which build on top of each other, and providing a good list of references (often small publications such as IEEE academic articles) in each chapter for points which might benefit from additional, specialized information.The book seems targeted at the cellular industry, using examples relevant to them at the time of publication (2000).  Particularly, there is a lot of time spent on high linearity as a way of addressing multicarrier installations, but the principles are discussed thoroughly and generally enough that one's understanding should be applicable to other disciplines as well.Overall, I found the book well-targeted for my own level of knowledge, an intermediate understanding of RF amplifiers, but with questions about the importance of "how linear is linear enough" with an eye toward developing a realistic design.  If I could find any fault, it is that the book brings many concepts up to the block level design stage, and even touches on some considerations realizing those designs in practical circuits, however a few "case studies" would be welcome.  On the other hand, particularly at 900+ MHz, components and even layout and construction practices evolve with some regularity, so perhaps it is best that there is a clean break where it is.If anyone has recommendations on similar books on the implementation side, I would love to hear about them!
