In the picture (my second attempt) I used pine wood trim. This was superb as it was straight, lightweight and easily held together by heavy duty staples. It does look better with felt because it hides the slightly overflowing image of the projection if you don't have it perfect. The zip ties CAN dimple and puncture the screen if you are not careful.
