My experience is that every 4-5 years the whip will break. Either a wire will break loose or it becomes misshapen and scrapes the side or bottom of the bowl. The problem is with the whip, not the height adjustment on the mixer, and I've found that the whip just has to be replaced. This wire whip fits the K45 perfectly and did a perfect job out of the box in creating a sponge for a loaf of rye bread.
