The pill is also easy to swallow. I don't know if it affects my triglycerides results yet because it's too early. I have only taken it for 5 days. ### ⭐ Caution: unpleasant to take, allergic reaction *by I***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2015* *** INITIAL REVIEW ***It's supposed to be a good quality oil, certified by an independent lab. The pill looks large, but it's easy for me to swallow. Great dosage, so you only need one pill a day, and the absence of enteric coating means that it "might" be absorbed more easily. The flipside of the thinner coating is the smell and taste. I love sardines, anchovies, herring etc., but this is like a drop of cod liver oil. It makes me cringe a bit, even though I take it with Spicy V8 plus garlic and cider vinegar. It also gives me annoying fishy burps sometimes, especially when I'm exercising or walking in the following hours. I'll keep taking it though.*** UPDATE ***I took one capsule a day for 40 days. Prior to using this brand, I had hives 1-3 times a year, seemingly random or stress-induced, nothing to worry about. I had been taking a different brand of fish oil, enteric-coated, 1200mg a day, for over two years. After switching to this product, it started happening more and more. Once or twice a week for the first couple of weeks, then four to six times a week. A sudden sunburn-like sensation with a patchy rash-like flush on my face, shoulders, sometimes arms, within 30 minutes of taking my supplements. I thought it might be my magnesium supplement at first, since I also switched brands for that, and I had hives after taking magnesium at night once. But stopping the magnesium did not help. The hives stopped after I stopped this fish oil, a week ago.One last thing that gives me pause: the coating on the pills. It's a bit sticky, and some of it melted inside my daily supplement boxes, leaving everything smelling like fish oil. I was not able to clean them. Washed them a few times, left overnight to soak in soapy water, then soaked with bleach for 30 minutes. The smell was still there, but also the goopy mess could not be scraped off. It seemed similar to some of the worst adhesive glue you'd find on plastic bottles, so then I put Goo-be-gone on it for 30 minutes. Still could not scrub it off. It hardened a bit, and in places it burned down into the plastic bottom of the pill cases. I ended up throwing them away. This is no ordinary gelatin coating!
