So I ended up with this black toaster and couldn’t be more pleased. It feels more solid than the cuisinart and toasts evenly with the bottom corners slightly lighter. Toasts a piece of frozen bread or waffle well. I’ve never set it higher than 2 1/2 and that’s enough for me. The cord is shorter than most, I agree.
