The lid won't shut if you have any more than a one layer tortilla shell. The lid on mine broke on the second use. Mine got swiftly thrown in the trash to never be seen again. A good old frying pan works much better at making quesadillas than this contraption. **Q: Hello, can anybody tell me if the power input can accomodate 220v ? i.e. sutiable for use in the UK ?** A: Cord is 2 prong US. You should be able to connect a UK adapter. **Q: Does this quesadilla maker come with a recipe book?** A: It comes with instructions on how to use it & a couple recipes. I haven’t found the book from our move, yet to tell you for sure. It’s very easy to use, just don’t overfill it. We do ground meat, refried beans, & cheese. Then put taco sauce on top with shredded cheese. You can use chicken or whatever you want. **Q: Is the cooking surface 9.5" like in the pictures or 8" like in the description? The photos do not match the description.** A: Love this product. I use an 8” tortilla and it covers the entire surface. Makes a great quesadilla.
