**Q: Is this powered by either usb connection or just usb 1?**
A: It is powered by either

**Q: Has anyone tried using this with a powered usb splitter? I want to plug a mouse, keyboard and a mic into it but it doesn't have enough power for that.**
A: If you use a wireless mouse/keyboard combo (such as products from Logitech), then you will only need one USB port for the wireless transmitter for both input devices and you can try to plug the mic to the other USB port (assuming your mic uses USB to connect to your computer).

**Q: what adapter do you recommend to connect a monitor that has a display port?**
A: I have not seen a monitor with Display Port only (usually an HDMI is onboard somewhere) but there are several companies that sell HDMI to Display Port adapters....probably on Amazon
The signals should be similar, unlike converting VGA to HDMI.  Those are a waste of money.

**Q: Will this work with wireless keyboard and mouse?  Thank you in advance.**
A: I use it on two Macs with a wired KB and a Wireless mouse with no problems. I’m assuming wireless KB will work as well.
