However, the ratio of marble powder to a bonding agent such as KastEZ Resin determines the hardness of the finished cold cast product. Resin of course is softer than stone or marble, it being a plastic. Thus, the higher the ratio of resin to marble powder the softer the surface (it still is harder than plastic though). So if you are looking for a harder surface use less of the bonding agent and more of the powder. Think of your bonded marble surfaces you have in your house such as a sink top. That top was made with marble powder and resin. That is the hard surface you will achieve with 2 parts resin and one part marble powder.
