Insinkerator Septic assist Disposal 3/4Hp SP, RPM:1725.

Review: Wow, nice, quiet, and mows through the scrapes - Installed this the same day it arrived. Replaced a 1/2hp, from this manufacturer, when it started to leak water (and short out the disposal - which is how I discovered it leaked, thankfully it was on a GFCI circuit.) Anyway, the 3/4hp was of course bigger, which meant the fixed plumbing under the sink had to be updated/modified - ABS vs the cheap white plastic type usually in the store. I think I prefer the ABS know that I have used both.... So, unit installed fairly easy, I bought a new power cord with the unit, and minus the plumbing change, it went in very nicely. Once I installed the new sink fitting, the moderately heavy disposal went in fairly easy. Note, the unit feels heavier when you have to lift it at arms reach under a sink in tight quarters. Since their fitting to the sink only requires the unit to be about a 1/3 turn twist to put in place, I was not lifting it for long. Once in, it hooked up pretty fast. This unit has a number of really nice features. The septic assist is nice, based on reviews, I think this will be really great. Also, there is a number of anti-vibration and noise features. It is really quiet. It makes the same level of noise our old one did when it jammed. Now, if you don't expect to hear anything, well, it will be noisy. But to put it into perspective, the water flowing into the sink either makes the same amount of noise, or at least about the same.....it's that quiet. Time will tell how it goes, but so far we are pleased.
Review: Super quiet and great for septic systems - This was a good solution for us in our new house that has a septic system. We were always told you can't use a garbage disposal with septic systems, which isn't true if you use the right one. This is the right one. I was tempted to buy the top InSinkErator model - the Evolution Excel. But after contacting InSinkErator, this one is the way to go with septic systems. It has a dual blade system that pulverizes food particles into dust. It then injects a few drops of their septic solution (bacteria) down the drain to help the particles biodegrade in your septic system. This will not harm your septic system and will help all that food break down. It's the easiest disposal I've ever installed, and I did it myself without help. I got it to twist on easier than any other disposal I've used, which is saying something. Usually installing these is super frustrating! The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Make sure the exit drain from the disposal is HIGHER than the drain running out the house, or you can't have a disposal. Water flows with gravity, so if your exit drain leaving the house is higher than this one, water will just sit in your disposal and stink up your house. This is a very quiet disposal and chews up everything I put in it. I installed a push button disposal switch on top of my sink when we had our new sink installed for a clean look. It does not come with any kind of power cord. However, you can buy a dishwasher power cord at your local hardware store (HD, Lowe's) and they work perfectly. That's what I used and I had no issue. You just need an outlet under your sink (I had an electrician install one for us). Overall I'm very pleased with this disposal, and I'm glad I didn't spend more money on the Excel as it's not necessary for septic systems.

A: You should be able to, but if you have a septic system you should NEVER put egg shells in it.  They do not dissolve.

**Q: Do I need to order the power cord with the septic disposal?**
A: Depends on the codes in your area. The disposers can be hard wired from a junction box under the sink with a piece of Romex/armored cable. Or the junction box can be replaced with an outlet box and a power cord from the disposer ordered and installed. It depends on whether the Romex/armored cable solution is allowed or prohibited in your area.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to install

I ordered the same disposal that I have had for about ten years, and wanted to replace it with the same brand. This new one is quieter than the old one and because it was the same design and size, I didn’t have to change the piping, which saved a lot of time with installation. Looking forward to the excellent performance of my old garbage disposal!
