All natural mineral called alum. *by J***R on May 30, 2026* This crystal is alum, a mineral that in powder form, we used in Ethiopia in the 1960's to purify rain water for drinking. It works well, and lasts for years. I bought my first one over a decade ago and accidentally dropped it. It shattered, so I bought this new one. I have never had the issue of powder or residue on my skin or my clothing. Definitely moisten the crystal before using it - I get a few drops of water on my fingertip, rub that onto the crystal, then apply the moistened crystal to my armpits. Have never had the problem of the crystal dissolving because of this.
