The cloth mesh seems ultra fine ... so it's great for filtering out the very tiny bits of ripe pu'erh tea that normally get through even a fine wire mesh. I have a few different kinds of Stainless Steel Gongfu tea strainers with super fine wire mesh strainers, but this strainer is better. One downside is the natural gourd picks up stains very easily with the darker teas (oolong, black, ripe pu'erh, etc). I found that occasionally soaking overnight in a light bleach solution solves the problem ... but give it extra time to dry thoroughly. I actually have a few of these, so I rotate them ... 1 day of heavy usage, then at least 2 days drying time.I recommend this item highly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by T***Z on Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2015* Love it.
