## Overview

The Jetboil Genesis Basecamp Stove is a portable, dual-burner propane stove delivering 10,000 BTUs per burner. It includes a 5-liter FluxPot, 10-inch ceramic-coated fry pan, windscreen, and carry bag, all designed to nest compactly for easy transport. Engineered for reliable performance down to 20°F (-6°C), it boils 1 liter of water in just over three minutes, making it perfect for serious outdoor cooking and group meals.

## Description

The Genesis Basecamp System is the ultimate all-in-one backcountry cooking system, stowing neatly into itself and fitting snugly among your gear. Jetboil's dual-burner design functions as a standalone stove, or couples with other Jetlink-compatible stoves or a Luna satellite burner to create an outdoor cooking range. The system's 5-liter Jetboil FluxPot and 10-inch ceramic-coated nonstick fry pan give you everything you need to set a new benchmark for basecamp cooking. A beastly 10,000 BTU heating system boils water in just over three minutes—perfect for melting snow or making coffee. An attachable windscreen improves the system's performance in any weather; regulated for consistent performance down to 20 degrees F (-6 degrees C). Includes system carrying bag with pocket for regulator; compatible with standard 16.4-ounce propane bottle; weighs 9.1 pounds.

Review: Expensive, but worth the price - Well made and solid construction with high end materials. Burners have a wide range from very low, for simmering to extremely hot for boiling. The kit packs down nicely into a well made storage bag. This is an excellent item for tent / car camping and also for RV use. The Genesis system can use propane in either the 1# bottles or the smaller growlers all the way up to 20# cylinders which makes the unit very versatile. The boil time for water is very quick, depending on size of pot being used, but for tea kettles for coffee, you are taking a few minutes. The only downside to the system is price, as it is costly for a camp stove. But, again, it is a quality made product. As the saying goes, “buy once cry once” and you’ll be happy with the unit as it is built like a tank.
Review: Amazing, you will not regret - I put a lot into food for a camping trip, lots of prep at home to make delicious meals but execution made simple. I need a cook system that works as well as my home stove, and this checks every box. - The compact storage design is genius. Makes it easy to store and transport. If you're taking it out/putting away between meals like I do, it's a dream. I've even brought it out for day trips or to backyard parties. It's probably overkill if just cooking for 1 person, but honestly again it stores so compactly that it's fine and then versatile for when you are feeding more. You can also choose to just use one burner. - I also bring a 9.5" square cast iron griddle pan that worked perfectly for tortillas, steaks & fish (bc fire ban), pancakes, and heating my tinfoil pre-wrapped burritos, breakfast sandwiches. and cinnamon buns. The drawbacks: - the wind shield is pretty useless, so I set up the lids of my rubbermaid containers I bring my supplies in to block wind. - the fry pan is easy to clean but the pot gets food stuck on, so I recommend a non-scratch pot scraper in your kit, on here search "Pan Scraper, 5 Pcs Pot & Dish Scraper Plastic, Sturdy Scraper Kitchen Tool" and they're $6 for 5

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this come with the carrying bag that you find on their website?**
A: I haven't looked for a carrying bag on generic websites. However, in researching the grill I found that the Jetboil site has replacement bags if you need one.

**Q: Does this come with connection hose for fuel?**
A: Yes this comes with a line for Coleman type fuel bottles. You can purchase a connection that will attach the stove to propane tanks if you are interested.

**Q: Will this work with a Camp Chef griddle?**
A: It can. You'll just have different spots that are hotter than others while cooking. The pan works much better as the flux ring will have more even heating.

**Q: Can this also work with other camp cookware?**
A: Yes. The burners are standard (probably the same as those on the folding Coleman) and will accept any flat pan or pot. The fry pan is flat. The pot has the side fins for more efficient heating but the rest is flat. It is only the optional jet link accessory that only takes the jetboil cups unless you use the pan adapter that came with your jetboil cup (one came with my original sumo but that may also be optional.). I'm really glad I made this purchase, the flame control is the best I've seen. However I'm not sure how the much cheaper folding Coleman works but it doesn't come with the jetlink option or the nice pot and pan. So far they food hasn't stuck to them. I really like this for car camping as it is self contained in the bag: stove, pan and pot. My jetlink also fits in the upper lid. The propane fuel bottle, my sumo cup, utensils, plates, etc are in a plastic tote. So I just grab these two containers and go.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extremely great car camping stove
*by Z***Y on May 28, 2019*

I have used this stove a few times since purchasing it. Here are a few thoughts. Pros 1. It is very compact and easy to transport. Takes up very little packing space. I actually take it with me when I go on day fishing trips and I can easily take it out and make lunch on my tailgate. 2. Easy to control the heat. The knobs for gas control make it very easy to control the flow and thus the heat very precisely. 3. It is very well made. My buddies all have the Coleman stove that is similar and now are drooling over this. 4. I haven’t yet found the need to, but it is expandable. Cons 1. I actually read this before buying it and found that with the stove directly in the pots it actually can scratch and damage the pots, so I followed one bit of advice and just put an old dish towel in around the stove to protect the pot. 2. The windscreen is a little difficult to use and I feel as though it might just blow away in the wind it is trying to block. Other observations 1. One other camper that I was with last weekend made the comment that you can’t put a griddle on it like you can a Coleman two burner stove or a camp chef. My response to that was, if I am going to be cooking for enough people that I really need a griddle like that, then I will just bring my camp chef. Otherwise, when cooking for myself and my family of 5, this works perfectly. It was never intended to compete with the camp chef line of stoves anyway.
