Not quite as robust and solid feeling as the KitchenAid scoop without the release feature, but the riveted release mechanism seems to be well-constructed. There is plenty of play in the scoop ejector so it really pushes the ice cream off the scoop. I've had some of these ejector scoops in the past where the ejector wasn't strong enough to always eject the scoop.
