These are just the right amount brightness. wide even light. only downside is it flashes when it gets low on battery good and bad can be annoying. Maybe some sellers' storage solutions, or varieties of product have resulted in an unreliable battery life in some models. I cannot speak on the reasons why some reviews have noted terrible battery life with any authority. There are plenty of reviews noting the issues.What I can 100% say is this: I fully charged this headlamp and let it run on the lower of the two settings it has (125 lumens). It ran for a little over 15.5 hours non-stop before shutting down. That's more than the advertised runtime.I will agree that the rear plate of the headlamp, including the hinge, seems to be thin and possibly a weak spot prime for breakage. I have another Klein headlamp that is meant to click onto their hardhats in the same way as this one, but instead of a rechargeable battery it uses 3 AAA batteries. The rear mounting plate and hinge are more robust and do not seem as weak and flimsy as this one.Only time will tell how well this headlamp will stand up to use on the jobsite. For now, I am glad that the battery life seems great.
