I have a toddler.** A: I have been researching tiles with a particular focus on toxins as buying them for grandchildren. Thus far, I am using SoftTiles as the preferred option. From their website: “SoftTiles mats are made from a non-toxic EVA foam that is used in many different children's products. The mats have been tested to meet EN-71 toy safety standards which means they are lead free. We have also tested to be free of formamide. There are no fire retardants, phthalates, PVC, formamide, formaldehyde, latex. We have been selling to the children's market since 1994 so having safe products for kids is the most important thing for us.” **Q: Would the tiles pull apart or rip during high impact / tension producing exercises such as burpees, mountain climbers, and V-pushups? (if only using one set, not wall-to-wall installation)** A: What I did to avoid this was lay down my tile the way I wanted it, upside down, take some Gorilla Tape, or something else, and tape along the seams. When I flipped it over it is no longer visible, and have not had it pull apart at all. If you ever had to break it down quickly that presents a problem though. **Q: I live in an upstairs apt. will this absourb shock enough to not disturb downstairs ?** A: Possibly. I use it in my upstairs apt and have not had any complaints from the neighbors downstairs. That said, I generally do not jump around much on these mats. **Q: I would like to put them on top of my carpet in my gym room to minimize rug burn etc. Will these work well for that?** A: Hi Amanda, yes they will work really well.
