So if u are looking to mount this directly on a camera then u want this one. **Q: how do you adjust swivel tightness?** A: there's 2 screw covers on the side of the upper piece. Just uncover those and tighten those up **Q: can you take the cold shoe part off so it can just screw in?** A: If you’re a machinist type, sure. But they have this in other types of mounts.
