They still smelled like moth balls but the cedar helped to make the smell bearable. It too about a week before I stopped seeing moths. After that, one or two that I figure were ones that hatched after the main herd had died off. So the moth balls worked BUT the food that was in the pantry now taste like the moth balls. That included new, unopened bags of chips and crackers. My advice is to use these moth balls but protect your food by storing it in glass or very thick plastic containers or just keep it away from the moth balls until you have the moths under control.
