It gives a smooth stroke and no static. There is no plastic pieces, allowing it to be gentle on my hair. I have long THICK hair and since I have been using this brush, I have minimal breakage and the proof is in the pad - no hair is pulled out and left on the padding. I noticed more shine to my hair as well. I will never own another brush, ever! I highly recommend this to anyone.
