If you have had difficulty installing a new sealing ring in the cover of your cooker, or you believe it is the incorrect one for the cooker you have, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. It is normalSealing ring numbers that are 09901, 09907, and 09909. The sealing ring is designed to fit into the groove in a flat horizontal manner. The groove into which the ring fits should be thoroughly scoured with a stiff brush or steel wool. This is to be certain there are no bits of old sealing ring or other foreign material of any kind lodged in the groove which could interfere with proper installation of the new ring. In one spot, put the sealing ring in the groove. Hold that part with one hand. With the opposite hand, push the sealing ring in and down to compress the sealing ring into place. You may have to go around twice compressing the sealing ring in. for a sealing ring to seem to be 1½ to 2 inches too large. This seemingly excess sealing ring can be worked into the cover. The kit contains the gasket ring for the lid, and the rubber safety blow-out. It takes some time to get the ring to seat in place, and it will look like the new ring is way too big, but it is the correct one. Just keep working it into place until all of it seats in the grove. Some cooking oil helps. It must be pushed all the way down into the grove. After it is in place, it will likely still look a bit too large. After a couple of uses, it will look perfect, and should last many years.
