Review: A solid 360 camera - This camera is fantastic! After using it for a few months, here is what I have come to love and hate: PROS: -small! -lots of features! -decent picture/video quality (shoots in 4k!) -It comes with stitching software (which, although slow, actually works pretty good) -It comes with a fantastic carrying bag that can be used without detaching your monopod/etc. -you don't NEED a Samsung phone, or any phone for that matter. It can be used by itself (although there is no preview screen) Some positive thoughts: This camera is very iconic and gets lots of positive comments. It not looking like a typical camera helps people to be less camera shy, and act more natural. The camera's size, shape, and fast controls make it easy to just throw into a bag, usually with a monopod or selfie stick attached. It's very easy to use without a phone, although you will need a decent computer to process your videos. Now some CONS and negative thoughts: -This camera NEEDS a u3 high speed card. If you go with anything slower, the camera will bottleneck with video data and shut down after about 1 minute (and give you a nice, corrupted video) It would have been nice of Samsung to boldly state this fact somewhere on the box. It was a huge waste of time filming with this camera only to find over half of the videos were corrupted (this is with a u1 high speed card) -This camera overheats! After going through a single battery, the internal battery compartment (and the battery itself) becomes almost too hot to touch. I have seen it turn off with the overheated message multiple times (while filming at night, in the winter). This makes me nervous, with all the battery exploding problems that seem to be popping up with companies like..... Samsung. -Extra batteries from Samsung are expensive! I am hesitant to put an aftermarket battery though the extreme heat this camera produces. Since the battery lasts only a few hours, my options are limited! Pay $50 for two Samsung batteries, or save $30 and risk the device... Tough choice for someone who doesn't have $50 to spend on batteries... -The stitching software takes about ten minutes to stitch just one minute of footage. Imagine trying to work with a half an hour of footage! This can easily add up to a whole day of just stitching. It takes a huge amount of your computer's memory and space, by the way. So prepare yourself and your computer. Pro tip: start stitching before you go to bed. -The videos take huge amounts of space! This isn't necessarily a con, but it ends up costing you more money! You should consider buying a 1TB or larger hard drive to store your videos on. I ended up purchasing a 3TB internal Barracuda drive (less than $100) -The included "accessory" is already in the trash. The tripod that the camera comes with is great if your going for the whole ant's view thing. But for anything else, its completely useless. The bottom line: This camera is fantastic! Just remember, this technology is very new! As with any new technology, there will be little things here and there that need improvement. That being said, the problems with this device are easily outweighed by its superior performance and portability.
Review: great cam for discounted price - I have been waiting for this product to drop the price and finally when it became under 100, i had to get it. I am currently using it as dash cam. Yes it's painful to attach and detach all the time but it records 360 degree. The video quality is good. I went through a lot of reviews and it was worth what i paid for. I have to use at 1080p due to overheating issue. but it's still pretty decent compare to other dashcams. Very happy with the purchase and build quality is just great.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what's the photo resolution?**
A: It's 25.9 MP (7200 x 3600) -- one of the highest resolutions in the consumer grade 360 camera class. They decided to drop the resolution in the newer ones to 14.4 MP. The other cameras with comparable resolution are the Nikon Keymission and the newer Kodak Pixpro Orbit, but those are like 5x more expensive.

**Q: Can this camera work without a samsung galaxy with regular pc and usb cable? what software used?**
A: The camera will work and the video/pictures can be off loaded from the camera to computer via a USB cable or microSD card.  But you will need a Samung Galaxy phones to access the settings.  If I knew this before I had bought it, I would have bought something else.  The camera does take good video/pictures in 360 but the camera will overheat and shut off in 20 minutes or so, unless you find a way to heat sink it.  I use a little battery operated blower for that.

**Q: I read that the 360 is waterproof rated IP68 (up to 5 feet for 30 mins), can anyone verify if this truly is the case?**
A: I got caught with mine in a torrential downpour last summer that was so bad my pack, which is weather resistant and was closed up as tightly as possible, had puddles of water inside.  My Gear 360 was sitting in water for probably 15 minutes or so. I figured it would be toast, but to my delight, it was totally fine. No condensation to be seen. I dried it off well and let it air dry before attempting to use it, but the water didn't damage it at all. I'm not sure I'd attempt to actually use it underwater, but in terms of getting caught in the rain or things like that, you should feel pretty safe with it.

**Q: How much memory does a 360 4k video take up?**
A: I've saved 4K 5-minute videos and they have weighted about 1.5 GB.

This camera is fantastic! I have been waiting for this product to drop the price and finally when it became under 100, i had to get it. I am currently using it as dash cam. Yes it's painful to attach and detach all the time but it records 360 degree. The video quality is good. I went through a lot of reviews and it was worth what i paid for. La cámara tiene buenos lentes, por lo que toma fotos con buen resultado, la conexión al celular es bastante sencilla solo hay que instalar las aplicaciones correctas, yo lo instale en un Huawei P9 y se puede tener la vista previa aunque un poco retrasada debo decir que la vista previa es por Wifi-Direct lo cual hace imposible que tengas conexión a Internet mientras tienes la visualización, por eso es que no se puede hacer Streaming en directo La cámara obligatoriamente necesita una tarjeta Micro SD para funcionar por lo que hay que tomarlo en cuenta, viene con una bolsa para llevar la cámara, también una correa que se pone en el tripie, así como un trapo para su limpieza tanto lentes como la cubierta y el cable de carga (1m aprox), incluye ademas un serial o licencia para el SW o programa de edición de Samsung, lo que si es que no trae cargador. Se completa el ciclo de carga en 2 horas aproximadamente, que es el mismo tiempo que dura en uso Lo que no me gusto es que aun siendo que la cámara es 360 se nota el cambio de color en la luminosidad, no se puede enfocar como tal un objeto pero no afecta la toma completa (Esto es en mi caso), el indicador LED de batería solo tiene 2 colores, verde y rojo, por lo que no se tiene un intermedio, solo se sabe si tiene carga o esta baja la batería Recomendaría la cámara por su precio ya que existen otras opciones pero esta es perfecta en relación calidad / precio, también vino empacada perfectamente y el envió fue rápido a pesar de venir de EU, antes de lo previsto por Amazon, 3 días a partir de su compra
