## Description

Review: Fits perfectly for only the Board - Love it but! You cannot directly plug anything into the PCI slot without getting an extender or L shaped adapter. I wanted to put a Drive in the slot and ended up getting a ribbon extender. Would be nice to have a slot to puch out and let a drive stick out or something…
Review: Meh - Pros: 1. All-metal construction 2. GPIO extension included 3. PWM fan included Cons: 1. Poorly painted on GPIO side 2. Improperly bent in several places 3. Two lid screws didn't line up (see #2) 4. Lid bows in the middle (see #2) 5. Included fan is defective I purchased this to house my new Home Assistant build. I expected the fan to be loud, so my plan was to control it with PWM. No matter what I did, the fan would not shut off. I could reduce the speed on boot, but I couldn't control it after. The CM4-FAN-3007-B I had on it originally would at least toggle on and off, so I just tried to assemble the case without the included fan. That is when I discovered one of the top's sides had damaged paint. I wasn't too worried about that, but then I found the next issue. The lid requires eight screws, and the last two holes were nowhere near the screw holes on the base. I had to remove the other 6 screws that I had started a few turns, remove the lid, and straighten the bent corner. Thanks to the heavy metal design, bending it was no easy task. Once I got the lid snugged down, I saw the middle of the lid was bowed up about a mm. Apparently, that wasn't bent properly either. It was flat before I tightened the screws. Fast forward to today: I installed a CM4-HEATSINK, and gave the case fan another go. Waveshare support told me the fan wouldn't fit with that heat sink, but it actually does. It just needs shorter screws, which I have. At this point, I'd already moved Home Assistant to another Pi. I started testing with the official Raspberry Pi OS, and a 4-pin 80mm fan I had laying around. The alternate fan worked perfectly. I switched to the fan included with the case, and it just stayed at a low speed all the time. Switching back to the alternate fan proved there was no issue during reboot. The included fan is obviously defective. TLDR: Twenty to twenty-five dollars for a well made case with a good quality fan is acceptable. Although this is a strong case, it's made poorly. The fan isn't good quality by a long shot. Ten to twelve dollars would be a more reasonable price for what I received.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strurdy and does the job

If you use the board as a Dev board - don't bother with the top cover. Also, if you plan on using cards with the PCIe slot, get an extender like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XK7F6XL or similar
