Review: These are NEATO! - I used these to go between two buildings where we don't have cellular or landlines available, great to be able to communicate clearly without the need for radios. Simply connects over a single copper pair and can run off of AA batteries or 110vac. I used CAT-5 UTP for about a 200' run, the sound quality was excellent. One of the handsets is powered by 110VAC the other on AAs. Sounds clear and rings loud in fact, my only complaint is the ringer, if you pick it up too quickly or someone at the other end presses the ring button it is very loud in your ear.

**Q: If both phones have the batteries in them and I leave them plugged into 110v outlets, will the batteries keep it on if 110v outlets go out?**
A: yes, but I don't know for how long.  for me it was 10 minutes, but then the electricity was on again.

I used these to go between two buildings where we don't have cellular or landlines available, great to be able to communicate clearly without the need for radios. Simply connects over a single copper pair and can run off of AA batteries or 110vac. I used CAT-5 UTP for about a 200' run, the sound quality was excellent. One of the handsets is powered by 110VAC the other on AAs. Sounds clear and rings loud in fact, my only complaint is the ringer, if you pick it up too quickly or someone at the other end presses the ring button it is very loud in your ear.
