Check with the manufacturer of the unit you are trying to control to make sure you are ordering the correct type of thermostat. And make sure that you reconnect the new thermostat in the exact same way and to the exact same colors as the old thermostat was connected. And turn the power off on the unit you are controlling while doing the reinstallation of the thermostat or you could fry the circuit board. **Q: does the white rodgers 200 5-1-1 stat have a backlight?** A: Yes by pressing any button preferably "Run" or " Hold" but the backlight is not as bright as shown in the picture. The color is somewhat like yellowish green and dimmer. **Q: can this be used for heater only? we don't have air conditioning** A: Should work. I had to send it back because I needed one that was compatible with a 3 wire hydronic system. **Q: Does this have a swing adjustment (determines the temperature difference from on to off)?** A: I can find nothing that states that it does. EMR is supposed to turn on your Heating/Cooling system prior to your preset time, in an attempt to reach the desired temperature by the preset time. This was hit or miss for me, sometimes it worked as expected other times it did not turn on early. To disable this function the manual says to cut the jumper W903. I have cut that jumper and it still acts like it is trying to do the EMR.
