Review: Pretty good storage/shelving, I'd give 4.5 if possible - I did NOT make a bunny cage, I used it for storage. I can only give a 5 star score, since 4.5 isn't an option. Basically, it is what it says on the tin. A few people said it required tools or a lot of brute force, they might not have been doing it right. It snapped together easily, it's very stable, I did NOT need the zip ties to reinforce it. It's holding textbooks, shoes, and heavy reams of paper without any problem. Made three shelves and a bin like on the box, though I put the bin ont he other side, and there are a lot of combination. Two extra connectors and one panel let you change how you have it as well. I could tell how strong the connectors were when I tried to disconnect it to change how I had it, not easy, which is good. I ended up cutting up a box and using the zip ties to make cardboard floors, so I could stow small things there. Only 2 minor problems, the instructions sucked and I kind of had to figure it out on my own. It's somewhat wobbly when empty, but the weight of stuff keeps it down. But what did you expect for 20 dollar wire panels? All in all worth it if you want storage on the cheap. Great for dorms.
Review: Not used as directed = guinea pig cage success! - I bought two sets of these and some zip ties - like many, I wanted them for a C&C cage for our guinea pig. I figured, two sets of storage cubes would still be cheaper than a pair of Midwest cages shoved together, and in our circumstances, also provide more space (we aren't putting a "grid lid" on it) - win all around. (Feel free to skip this paragraph - it's backstory.) We received Miss Piggy from a neighbor in a store-bought cage, and after doing a bit of research, found out how insufficient those are (space-wise) for a guinea pig! Our first go-to, since money was an issue, was to pick up a hard-set kiddie pool, put a thin layer of just-in-case bedding in it, and some cardboard boxes with holes cut so she could at least have a play area. That worked fine, but we couldn't leave her in there ALL the time, and our attempts to add a "loft" to the interior of her cage were utterly unsatisfactory. Even the crinkle tube we rigged to the top of the cage became problematic after a couple weeks; while she could make the leap to get into it like a champ, the noise of that at all hours in an otherwise-silent house had all three of my boys getting up to investigate! We had to look for other options and discovered C&C pictures that piqued our interest... and now you're up to speed. Well, our C&C cage is missing one of the C's. We happen to be fortunate in that one of the boys' beds is a bunk that used to have a slide, with nothing but play area underneath. That space didn't get much use until we cleared out the toys and installed the cage using these cubes under there! We've got a thin sheet of plastic under the fleece (thank you, Internet, for explaining that we don't actually have to keep buying messy bedding!), and since that's on the floor, we don't need the corrugated plastic at this point. Miss Piggy started with a plain rectangular 3x5 area. I realized today that we had enough leftover connectors and grid squares to add on a 1x2 "kitchen" area that sticks out from under the bunk bed, nearest to the wall under a window, which similarly was not getting much use. Not to be outdone, my boys decided that it would "get her some exercise" if we added a few "walls" inside the 3x5 block, so now it looks sort of like a maze with some holey cardboard boxes strewn along the way so she can hide as she goes. Pellet food and water go in the "kitchen," farthest from her salt wheel and hay tray. For a few minutes she just sat there when we put her in. Before long, those wonderful wheeks started and she popcorned like crazy and ventured out of the kitchen in full explorer mode! I know that sometime in the future, we're going to want to make additions and alterations in order to shift some of that horizontal sprawl upwards. For now, though, even without the corrugated plastic, I feel like we have given our baby girl a good outcome. She loves all the space to run around, plus we can easily shift the cage contents to keep her interested in exploring. I love that this arrived on time, and that the connectors were fairly easy to use (it did require some serious pushing, at times, but that just made me feel confident it would hold its configuration). I'm honestly not sure what other reviewers meant when they said they had bad experiences with the connectors; maybe by avoiding the "lid" and the "bottom" we avoided those issues. At any rate, we're delighted with this product, and likely to buy more in the future. Next step - using Miss Piggy's old cage as a "quarantine" chamber, and hopefully adding another piggy! C

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is each panel 12"x12"? Or slightly larger?**
A: each panel is almost, if not exactly, fourteen inches. from center of one connector to the center of the next is fourteen and a half inches. each connector is one-and-a-half inches in diameter. no panels touch, there is a quarter-inch gap from panel to panel in any direction. for added strength, i assembled mine with plastic zip ties binding adjacent panels in any direction... this was extra work, but made for a very sturdy unit.

**Q: Can you take the boxes apart?**
A: I an give you the secret to keeping it together and steady in ANY combination. I read one person's idea and used it in a different way. You buy some very strong zip ties. I bought ones with a 60 pound pull. Then on each corner you place one of the zip ties tightly. Cut off the extra to keep it out of your way. Make sure to put one going up and down. And one going side to side at each corner. This provides all the stability needed to stack them high or even sideways. Try to catch as many corners of the shelves together as you can. I put them in 3s wherever possible. I have it 5 squares high and 5 wide and it is sturdy enough to pick up without falling apart. On the ones in the kitchen I also used spare squares to create shelves in the center of a cube by tying the corners to the outside of the cube. And added an extra in the center, making 3 zip ties per each side.

**Q: How many of the grid panels come in this package?**
A: The 4 cube pack has 17 grids, 20 connectors.

**Q: Has anyone stacked them four high? Or are the stackable? I need some cubes but do not have room for more width..**
A: Haven't tried with 4-unit high. Yes stackable. Stability may depends on the weight of your content, e.g. books are heavy, should be on lower cubes. You can try with 4-unit high 1-unit width, if it works for you, get more units and change configuration to 4-unit high 2-unit width.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I actually used these to organize, not build a guinea pig cage
*by V***V on August 7, 2016*

I love building / putting together furniture, but these were a bit of a pain to assemble...the corner bits that hold the sides together would pop out and I'd have to chase them across the room. I'd discover that I'd put the corner things in the wrong way so the shelf wouldn't sit flat etc. Overall, though, for the flexibility of options for building these cubes, I thought they were great! I ordered two sets, and used some over my laundry machines lengthwise. I essentially made these as dividers so no top or back was required allowing me to build more shelves. I also built two stacks of two cubicles in my closet. These I added drawer liner to the base (the type that sticks) so that I could organize my smaller outdoor gear without it "falling through the cracks". It also made the setup look a bit less "ratty". For organizing my outdoor gear I like that I can clip my cabiners to the shelves..It looks cool, if nothing else. In addition, because I had used less sides on my laundry dividers, I was able to put an extra side on top of the bottom set of two, and at the bottom of the top set of two, effectively widening the setup and making one tall divider on the side against the wall. I still have one leftover side which I may ziptie in as a divider within a shelf. Ok, so even though the initial building process was no fun, the creative ways one can assemble an end product are pretty endless. Much better, for me, than not having any flexibility...And if I don't like, I can adjust. Oh also, I think once one gets the hang of inserting the corner things, it's actually pretty stable. I only went two high though..
