I took the second one apart despite these idiot using tamper proof screws trying to make repair hard/impossible and found a bad heating element and I suspect the first one had the same problem so these things are just landfill fodder and environmentally unsoundI'm tired of going through coffee makers ever 3 weeks to 2 years and going back to percolator on a gas stove because no one can seem to make a decent drip coffee maker anymore and it's not like they are complex devices, it's just they all use the same junk Chinese parts .... This is the 4th drip coffeemaker I've went through in the last 4 years from 3 different brands ....
