Follow the super simple tutorial at adafruit site to set one up and test it at: //learn.adafruit.com/ir-sensor/testing-an-ir-sensor You'll have it working in 5 minutes. Then just aim a IR remote at it and the LED will light up. I'm very glad I found these and got them. I have a number of projects I'll be adding them too. Also great for examining Remote codes that are sent via IR : more about that at adafruit also.

These work really great. Follow the super simple tutorial at adafruit site to set one up and test it at: //learn.adafruit.com/ir-sensor/testing-an-ir-sensor You'll have it working in 5 minutes. Then just aim a IR remote at it and the LED will light up. I'm very glad I found these and got them. I have a number of projects I'll be adding them too. Also great for examining Remote codes that are sent via IR : more about that at adafruit also.
