I'm not a roofer, but my roof has many angles and I've used this to cut the shingles at various angles, along with many straight cuts. I was a bit leary about buying this tool but I am really glad that I did . You can cut your steps really fast and the blade stays very sharp. The unit is very sturdy and surprisingly easy to use. I thought that it would be more difficult to cut through the roofing materials, not with this tool . I will bring this to any roofing job that we do from now on.
