They died after just a little over a year.I've had this one year, and it's still going strong. Will update review if something goes wrong.Things to know:*Requires male to male 3.5mm(1/8 inch) cables to plug your stuff in. There are NO ACTIVE ELECTRONICS, so NOTHING in this could possibly produce a hum... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seamless operation *by Z***D on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2017* I recently got a pair of stereo headphones so that I could game at night without waking everyone in my house (I primarily use a quite powerful 2.1 stereo speaker system for sound). My USB ports don't play particularly well with USB headsets, I had a sound card, and I wanted something I could use on my phone. As a result of all three of these factors, I got a model of headphones that connected via 3.5mm audio cable, and had to be plugged in to work (not that I'm complaining). However, when they arrived, I remembered that the headphone ports on the front of my computer didn't work, and that as a desktop user, I had to slide my tower out, unplug my speakers, and plug my headphones into my sound card - which is in the back of my computer - to switch between the two. So, I looked at audio switchers. I found a few DIY solutions, but I'm not that good at electronics and the soldering thereof, so I decided to buy one instead. Most that I found were either really expensive, low-rated, had too many outputs, or some combination of the three. So, when I found this, I was happy to find a 2-output switcher, but still a bit skeptical, seeing as how there were at least a few negative reviews for seemingly every audio switcher I found. However, when I saw this was only $13, I figured it wouldn't be too much of a financial risk if it didn't work. So I bought it. When it arrived, I plugged one end of the input cable into my sound card, the other end into the input on the switcher, and plugged my headphones in one output port on the switcher and my speakers in the other. I tested it first with my speakers - my subwoofer and both satellites worked flawlessly. I then switched to my headphones, and at first, was disappointed. I could only get mono sound (both channels in the left ear) on my stereo headphones, and there was a slight crackling. I looked at the switcher, saw nothing wrong, looked at my headphones, and saw that the connection on the earcup was slightly loose. I secured the connection, and my stereo sound was back. Everything worked perfectly. I switched between the two outputs a few times to check for flimsy solder connections, but found no problems. On top of that, the switcher preserved the improved audio quality that my sound card provided. It sounded exactly as if the selected output was plugged in directly to the sound card. My one qualm with this product is that if you select an output and then drop the switcher any more than about six inches, the button for the input/output that was selected goes back up, effectively de-selecting the source. Other than that, it's perfect. If you're looking for an audio switcher that allows you to switch between two inputs or outputs, preserves high-quality audio, and adheres to your budget, then look no further. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good alternative to desktop front panel jack *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2020* The desktop front panel audio jack is a convenience, as plugging in headphones or other audio devices automatically switches off the rear stereo output with no hassle.
