Each clip (2) has a small loop that you back feed over themselves to attach to the binocs, and then buckle them to the main harness **Q: I have a dslr camera. it weighs about 4 pounds with the standard lens, and about 6 pounds with the long lens. will this harness handle the weight?** A: Yes. No problem **Q: Do you need to order extra straps or does this come ready to go?** A: You have organize the straps and attach one to the other when one is on your back, that's all. No extra straps needed. **Q: Would this work well for a drone transmitter, or would one of your crossbody solution do the job better?** A: I like this type of holder because I like to have the object central on my torso and easy to access. For binoculars - which is what I use them for - this is the case: easy access, hands-free when not needed. Also, I don't like cross body straps, especially for anything with any weight, because they tend to pull on your shoulders asymmetrically and, in my case, set up muscle tension. Ultimately, however, i think it's a matter of preference - and maybe also if you need to carry more than one thing at a time. We both have a pair of binoculars that we like to take backpacking and hiking. Our binoculars are medium sized/weight (they aren't travel size and they aren't large birding binoculars). After having a different binocular harness for a couple of years, the elastic wore out - this design seems much more durable and I expect it to last several years (more than 4). My partner needed help adjusting it to get it to fit right - it takes some fiddling around with to find the right length of the straps. The clips make for an easy release if you want to share your binoculars with someone. The clips are larger than I expected and slightly stiffer than other clips I have used, but they get the job done and they're fine. If you take it outside, especially backpacking, don't leave it in the sun or in a tent that will get very hot - the sun can accelerate the breakdown of the elastic.As a side note, the straps that go through the binoculars to connect it to the harness should connect directly to the binoculars - my partner's pair had straps that were a couple inches (from the previous binocular harness) and we simply attached this new harness to those, but it was too long and made it so the binocular hit him in the crotch when he was walking (woops!). After taking off the old straps and attaching this harness directly to the binoculars, there was no issue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good binocular harness for the money but fittings could be designed better. *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2017* I use these to take the weight off my neck. This model isn't quite as elastic as other harnesses I have used, but once you figure out how to attach them to the binocular, they work pretty well. They have quick release fittings with a loop on the end. I had to figure out how to attach it to the recessed fitting on the binoculars without having to use a connector. It was difficult to slide the loop through the recessed metal fitting on the binocular, but I used a thin screwdriver like someone else said and it went through with some effort. Then I looped the strap fitting around itself and plugged it into the other end. Why didn't they include instructions? Maybe I'm missing something here. Other people say it was easy to attach. Not for me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good straps but one minor flaw *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2017* These straps are very nice - easy to put on and adjust and very elastic to allow access to binoculars or camera. I rated them as a 4 instead of a 5 because the loop that connects to the binoculars or the camera on the quick release buckle was too thick to go through the hole in the connector on my camera and also on our travel binoculars, so I had to return them. Otherwise, they are great straps. Just be aware that the loop is rather thick when you have to double it to get it through the hole on your binoculars or camera.
