We began making ranger bands for the public years ago for attaching items to military style backpacks. Strapping small survival kits closed. I started off using a jig to cut up used bicycle tubes in 2004 working for J&B Importers we just moved to are new warehouse from Fontana to Redlands CA , in 2008 I went to new bicycle tubes. I couldn't keep up with my sales and needed an automated way to produce the bands. Got some quotes from Taiwan but decided I wanted Made in the USA. I found a US manufacture in 2015 that was all ready making bands with their trade mark for the US ARMY. They are incredibly stretchy and strong. BUT if you shoot a lot at once you run the risk of the heat melting the rubber through the keymod, but if you’re using it for home defense or as a patrol rifle you will be just fine. **Q: Will they fit around an AR butt stock to secure sling? Also, how well do they stand up to heat to secure light pressure switch on handguard?** A: I use mine on the stock to secure the sling for stowing in my work truck and it’s great, I also use one to attach a smaller twenty round mag on the other side of the stock. Not so much for fighting but to throw in a pocket after deployment. The pressure switch idea would be dependent on your personal use. For home defense or whatever it would be fine, but I am a little skeptical if things got extremely rowdy or you were at the range, it’s rubber after all an it might melt. Of course if it were on a foregrip I would say ok. **Q: Will these tear easily if punctured? I want to use as a replacement to the bands on an Accubat, and would have to poke a hole in them (and cut them).** A: I would not recommend poking a hole in the bands because it would be like a rubber band, these are basically like bicycle inner tube. **Q: When i first bought these i remember seeing an option to get only specific sizes. I only want small.
