I work at home on my laptop 7 days a week and anywhere between 12 - 18 hours a day. I only have to change the batteries about once every two months (sometimes it will go a little longer and sometimes a little bit less - not sure on why though). This mouse has worked flawlessly since the day of purchase and I was SO wrong to think that because it was cheaper than the others that it wouldn't work as well. There has never been a time where it disconnected from the computer or that there was any issue using it. A few times when it has needed the batteries changed and I wait a few days, there is a tiny lag - but that is all my fault. The best way I can describe it is to say that it's like there is padding inside to absorb the sound. When I click this mouse, the person sitting 3 feet from me can only hear it if we are deliberately still, and concentrate on hearing it. With my old mouse, every click was like someone snapping their fingers. This mouse is barely a whisper. I don't know why others say it's too loud for a library or office setting.
