The lock with its cable is so small that I won't even notice the room it takes up in my bag. The cable is coiled up so it is only about 3 inches long when not in use. I chose to buy it directly from desertcart rather than some anonymous desertcart Marketplace seller so I could be very confident that it was not a fake so that, in turn, I would only have to assume that Kensington designed the cable to withstand wirecutters [the cable is half the diameter of my old keyed Kensington lock]. Since Kensington boast about leading the industry, they have probably designed it well even if they do not state any precise specifications for its strength - "Kensington invented laptop security.
