Remove screws and the two halves of the handle will come apart and then the control board is held on by a few more screws. Under that are the 2 18650 batteries. **Q: what is the thickness of the light bar itself?** A: I don't have it in front of me right now but I think the light bar is about about 1/2" thick or 13 mm which ever you prefer. So far the light has worked well. As I stated in a prior review, I have not found the 2 sided light bar to be an advantage in what I use the light for and I usually keep the light dimmed about half way because full brightness is a lot of light and the battery charge lasts longer. **Q: Can you leave the light on the charger without it over charging?** A: I can not give an honest answer to the question, but I can tell you I leave mine plugged in on top of my box over night, it only takes a couple hours to fully charge. **Q: What is the difference between the 52sl and 52slc other than the price? can i purchase a two light pack or do i have to purchase two kits to get two l** A: The 52sl is just the light part # , the 52SLC is the light with wireless charger kit part#.
