About the only thing I am religious about NOT dishwashering is my cast iron cookware, so I'll update if the knives rust or get damaged that way. I think if you give some thought to how you put them in your dishwasher, vs. just throwing them into a basket with a ton of other silverware, it should minimize potential damage and premature dulling. At the price these are sold it, if they last several years they are an incredible buy. I am a self labeled knife snob, but for daily use, serrated knives for the kitchen and table that cost you roughly 6 dollars a knife, I don't see how you can beat it, or go wrong. These also are plastic but it are not as smooth, don't have the same hard feeling and lack the rounded corners. They are just generally cheaper feeling. **Q: What is the best way to sharpen these knives?** A: Isually you dont have to sharpen serrated knives, that's the whole point of them, but I use the work sharp Ken onion edition and the blade grinder attatchment, with the stropping belt to touch up serated knives. **Q: what is the length of the knife - both from handle to tip and blade length?** A: Handle to tip is 8 3/4". The blade is 4 1/2". **Q: The model # on the knives do not match the product info model #. Why?** A: Manufactures may change the model numbers/packaging etc but the UPC is aligned with this listing.
