Review: Awesome stuff. Could be just a little darker but still love the color - So to start off, this 3D general FDE polylite PLA pro is pretty amazing and I’m about to buy my 3rd&4th rolls. Dimensional accuracy is slightly better than .05mm where I checked but I didn’t take pictures of my gauge and only checked twice during 1 long (34hr) print about halfway through the roll. It’s got great properties all around, including both impact resistance and rigidity. It’s flexible but still very stiff. I haven’t tested the heat resistance, although it’s not something I’m terribly worried about. It’s super easy to print with and it prints really well with great layer adhesion, some slight warping on steep overhangs and really thin areas if you don’t use fans. I used 30-50% fans and printed relatively slow for anything too crazy and was virtually warp-free. I probably could’ve printed faster tbh but I prefer quality over speed. (The brace and hand stop were printed on an sv06 using the default prusaslicer speed settings with default dynamic overhang speeds and fan at 40% bridges at 100% and they printed perfectly. The only time I had any stringing at all was about a week into using the roll without drying it. I dried it for 6hrs at 55°c in a sunlu dryer box and it was good to go again. So I do recommend keeping it dry or drying it periodically, as it shows more hydrophilic tendencies or symptoms than other PLA plus filaments I’ve used. It has an incredibly awesome matte/flat finish that’s really hard to get with most other PLA plus filaments (that’s probably my favorite feature of this filament tbh), and the color is really great although it’s more of a desert tan than FDE in my opinion. I guess desert tan could be considered a shade of fde these days with how many different shades there are lol but it’s fairly light. All in all it’s absolutely awesome and I’ve almost completely switched over from eSun (except for a couple amazing colors that eSun does best like the olive green *chef’s kiss* and their grey is awesome too). Still giving 5 stars even tho I wish the color was more of a true FDE. Can’t beat the printability or material properties. And that matte finish tho 🤌👌
Review: Really strong and prints nice, does have some smell to it though - I have mainly used PETG for a long time but wanted to try out PLA Pro. So far I really like it and can see it replacing PETG for me for anything that does not need high temp resistance or UV resistance. It really is very strong. One of the things that surprised me the most is that with PLA Pro, you get similar layer-to-layer bonding strength as PETG. For instance when printing parts that have to flex across a layer line, you can always count on regular PLA to just snap right at the layer line, whereas PETG will not do that. This PLA Pro is similar to PETG where the bonds between layers are so good and there is enough flex to it that it does not easily snap apart at layer lines. PETG prints often turn out a little ugly just due to the nature of PETG being a little runny, goobery, and stringy. With this being PLA, the end results are often prettier than what you can achieve with even a really nicely tuned and dried PETG. Especially for more complex models. Overall I am really impressed by this filament. The only downsides are of course the low temp resistance, low UV resistance, and the smell when printing. Although the smell is not terrible, it definitely stinks worse than regular PLA or PETG. There is a quite strong maple syrup scent that kind of tickles the back of your throat in an unpleasant way if you stand near the printer. It dissipates pretty easily though and doesn't seem to build up in the room. As long as you are not right next to the printer, it is not too bad. Overall PETG is still probably my favorite filament, but there is no denying that this gets pretty darn close to PETG in strength and often delivers a finer looking end result than PETG can.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have tried every setting imagineable and i cannot get it to stop stringing. Any tips?**
A: I have a Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro with stock .4 nozzle and have no such issue and great prints using the following temps.
Nozzle First layer temp = 210c all other layers temp = 208c Bed temp 55c I also use a glue stick for added bed adhesion
Print setting in Prusaslicer from .20mm down to .10mm detail no issues

**Q: Are there any rolls of this greater than 1 kg? Looking for 3, 5, or 10 kg rolls.**
A: Hi there, we don't have big spools for PLA PRO for now, but we have other type of PLA coming in 3kg and 5kg, please click: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PHTMZQT?ref=myi_title_dp

**Q: Does this filament have better resistance to heat than regular pla I need good heat resistance for a part that’s going to go on the back of a steamd?**
A: PLA Pro does have better heat resistance than regular PLA, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything that will have it near continuous heat. I’d recommend petg or abs for that use case.

**Q: Is the Army beige close to FDE?**
A: Is lighter more kaki in color

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing
*by H***D on July 20, 2024*

I've been using Hatchbox PLA, eSUN PLA+, and ELEGOO Plus for the last few years, but I saw a few posts on reddit saying how much better Polymaker PLA Pro is and decided to give it a try. I'm happy to say that the hype was well-deserved. It's by far the best filament I've ever tried. I primarily print small D&D minis with my Ender 5 and when I compare a mini made from Polymaker PLA Pro vs any of the other brands I listed above, the Polymaker PLA Pro minis are stronger with less stringing and a little more detail than any of the other options. The layer adhesion is notably better with a much smoother and clean finish. Because the layer adhesion is so strong thin parts that usually bend or break during printing come out clean and strong. For me, that means I can print minis with thin legs or small tools and they not only come out looking great but have enough strength to be handled. Many of my minis have scales or chainmail and other tiny details that used to be washed out, but now all the small details are there. Some minis have spears or sharp spikes and those used to come out slightly rounded and blunt, using the playmaker they come out so sharp I have to dull them a bit. Usually, I print minis at 130% size so all the details come out, but with this filament, I can print them at their standard size. This saves me a ton of time and filament and the minis are still stronger and less brittle than the other brands I've tried. If I'd known how much better my minis would be I would have been buying this stuff from the start. It's slightly more expensive, but it quickly pays for itself when you have no failures and your prints are strong enough that they don't need to be reprinted. I'm not sponsored or anything, it really is that much better and has really upped the quality of my minis. 10/10
