The wife and I got a spice rack a long time ago (maybe even as a wedding present? I will have to ask her) and we played around with some of the different spices over the years, but we hit upon chervil, and it became an instant replacement for parsley anywhere parsley was even considered. One of the BEST uses, was on garlic bread, when we had one of those toaster ovens on the kitchen counter... We would make garlic bread by the slice, and use some butter, garlic (granulated, or garlic salt from the spice rack ) (this was before we found out how good fresh garlic would have worked) and then a generous sprinkle of Chervil on top... When cooked, and in combination with the butter, and other ingredients, the Chervil would open up flavor wise, and it really is soo-much better than nust parsley... Then again, we had mint planted at one place we lived, and maybe that was one thing we may have been missing later on, cause having fresh mint around can also be a great thing too. But I digress... This bag of Chervil Will probably see me theu the next 20years or so, as I was able to refill the old chervil labelled spice bottle from our old spice rack, and it used maybe 1/2-1/3 of the total I received. I have been gleefully over-spicing things with Chervil ever since received.
