You have to remove the plug and then pull trigger to see how much charge is left. **Q: Do you need to fully drain the battery before recharging? Can vacuum be stored in the charging station?** A: You're thinking of the older Nickel-Cadmium batteries that developed "memory". Not an issue with this battery chemistry. Basically, charging from about 1/3 or so of battery (1 bar) will be ideal. w/ these batteries it's the number of cycles that kills them. Typically you get about 500 cycles before serious cell degredation.
