Review: Better than standing at Home Depot testing all the screw sizes - There is only one problem in that I'm not sure whether the screw that I have is metric M6 or 1/4. I wanted wheels for my armchair and I check the screw size of the footies under my chair and ordered some M6 1 inch wheels that supports up to 90 lbs each. I am currently using a 3 wheel dolly for each foot arm of my armchair (5 total) so I also ordered some m6 bolts to secure the dollies (using the footies to secure the dolly at the moment). So either the M6 bolts with dollies OR the M6 1 inch wheels will work on my armchair. This was the only reason that I ordered this Screw Thread Gauge but will keep it for other future projects that needs knowing the screw thread size. I am ecstatic about owning this plastic gauge as it sure beats standing in the Aisle of Home Depot and catching covid. Yes I am weary about it being made of plastic but for the price I cannot complain. Highly recommended for all DIY home users.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do the holes have threads so you can screw in a bolt?**
A: Yes. The gauge is a thin piece of plastic and each hole is threaded. There is, of course, a limited number of threads because the plastic is thin. I believe it should be used gently to avoid damaging plastic threads. I believe it will be useful for identifying whether a screw has one standard thread (such as 1/4-NC20) or another standard thread (such as 1/4-NF28), but I don't think it can be used to finely test accuracy of threads cut on a lathe. I have not had an occasion to use it yet.

**Q: what is the thickness of this gauge?**
A: My micrometer says it's about a quarter inch. The only caveat is it is a polymer gauge, good news is that means it's durable and can flex around truly messed up screws and bolts; the bad news is it's not super precise because it's not stainless or Ti. For example it might be hard to discern a 24 vs. 28 pitch thread, but in my experience in the machine shop it determines the right threading well especially when you are trying to match a screw that's broken, old or damaged.

**Q: will this guage work for very small computer screws ?**
A: Yes! The guage goes down to M1.4 which is much smaller than any fastener that your going to find in any computer.  The guage also has inch sizes down to #0 (.060 inch).

**Q: Why do they show two different kinds of cards in the picture? One says "pitch" at the top right, and the other says "drill". Which one do we get?**
A: The pitch is for metric screws.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than standing at Home Depot testing all the screw sizes

There is only one problem in that I'm not sure whether the screw that I have is metric M6 or 1/4. I wanted wheels for my armchair and I check the screw size of the footies under my chair and ordered some M6 1 inch wheels that supports up to 90 lbs each.
