As a saw, it does cut through a soda can. Great, if you really need to cut through soda cans.I wanted to like this knife. One of the best tools to have, is a serrated, offset, knife. My Dexter Russell model does more than most of my other knives combined. Dexter Russell S163-5SC-PCP Sani-Safe 5" Scalloped Offset Knife In the kitchen, It didn't work out as well as hoped. I purchase meat in bulk vacuum packs, so that I can butcher it myself. I save a few dollars, and get the cuts that I want. I butcher my own top blade into flat iron steaks, stir fry strips, and save the tendon for stews. I determine whether my loins become thick grill cuts of NY Steak, or super thin cuts for fajitas. My standing rib roast is trimmed into paper thin slices for hot pot & pho, and 2" thick ribeyes for the barbeque.This saw ripped into my meat and destroyed it. Bits and pieces of gristle, meat, and fat get stuck in the teeth. The teeth will rip apart all of your cleaning pads and towels as you try to clean the blade. The grip does not feel good. There is no heft and/or balance.This will not take the place of any piece of fine cutlery. Butchers will not throw out their scimitars. The House of Prime Rib is not replacing their slicers with this knife. These will not go into rotation on the fillet line at a commercial fishery. This knife won't even find it's way into my tackle box. There is a reason why every chef & butcher doesn't carry around this saw. It doesn't work. It doesn't even cut that well through a soda can.Ronco knives, have thus far, not impressed me. The folks at Ginsu have nothing to worry about here. But it is still a pretty good price. And Ronco allegedly offers a warranty. So I will use it, awkwardly and uncomfortably, to see if it will hold up. [beware[ it will saw thru a roast but uneven cuts is what you will get from these.as for the TV ad that shows it sawing a nail!?!I didnt try that as it didnt saw the plastic off a roast [wow thats bad] used a box knife [razor] I keep just for that.and no you can not make a nice thick slice of prime rib [uneven]Mo it will not carve a turkey for the same reasons [too thin and flexible] but it is not a filet knife either [I have a few of those that are suited for fish filet, which this knife I know is not good for that either]but it saws bread slices ok. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does not work well on frozen food.
