Seems to be similar brightness as a car headlight. I think folks that are complaining about brightness had lofty expectations or aren't supplying enough current. It'll turn on at 3 amps, lower than that it loses its mind. My nav light circuit was on 2amp fuse so keep that in mind. The nav lights draw under 1 amp and with nav lights and high beam it needs 5.126 which is shown on my power supply unit. The nav light doesn't rotate but it turns off when the spot is engaged. When you turn off the spot, the nav lights come back on. **Q: The standard wires in my boat is 8 gauge is that strong enough wire keep it from overloading and melt the wires if fuse doesn't blow.** A: Yes, Golight recommends a minimum of 14 gauge wiring. This model requires a minimum voltage of 12V and requires at least 5.5—6 amps to function. A minimum of a 7 amp fuse is required. **Q: How well will it hold up in salt water?** A: I use my Gobee light purely for late night runs in and out the saltwater marshes for shrimp baiting season Sept-Nov. I have had my light for 2 years now and it still performs flawlessly. After each use I take the light and place it back in its storage bag(that it comes with) with the remote and put it under the seat in the boat. I stays there in between shrimping outings and during the offseason. I usually spray a little WD40 on the connection points at the base of the pole once or twice during the season but thats it. Over all, I have been extremely pleased with this light! Would buy again in a min. **Q: Is this model 2151?** A: That's what it says in the listing.
